Filtration Systems: Hydra Vortex Systems How to Order    Shipping/Terms

The Ultimate Filtration System

Nothing is worse than creating the perfect pond and filling it with beautiful fish only to watch both deteriorate due to a bad filtration system.

Easy to install, maintain, and clean, the Hydra Vortex System was designed to make your pond upkeep a pleasure.

More than two years in design, development, and testing have gone into Hydra Filtration Systems proving them to be the most efficient, low maintenance, and high performance systems now available to professional pond builders, landscape architects, and pond enthusiasts. Molded from food grade, UV stable polyethylene, Hydra Systems are virtually indestructible.

A flooded suction, three chamber system is the key to the success of the Hydra. The Hydra is set on a stable surface at ground level with the pond. Using gravity to move water from the bottom drain of the pond through a pipe to a round (vortex) settling chamber, the water then rotates very slowly allowing the heavy solids to fall to the bottom of the chamber. These solids can be very easily discharged when necessary. Water then passes to a second chamber, where it is filtered through nylon brushes. Due to their special design, these brushes are almost impossible to clog. They can also easily be removed for rinsing without destroying the bacteria. Finally, all but the smallest unwanted particles have been removed as the water now travels into the third and most effective chamber. This chamber contains biological media covered by a sheet of reticulated foam. The foam removes the smallest particles allowing ammonia removing bacteria to grow freely on the rocks.

The flooded suction is an added bonus of the Hydra System. In most filter systems a submerged pump is used to move water from the pond to the filter. Unfortunately, using this method will "chop up" solid waste making filtration much more difficult. Using Hydra's flooded suction design, gravity works to move water and waste to the first two chambers where larger debris is eliminated.

The Hydra also offers a high amount of adaptability. Your filtration capabilities should increase in proportion to the amount of fish you have. With standard filtration systems this is extremely difficult. However, extra chambers can be added with ease using the Hydra Vortex System. This gives you unlimited filtration capabilities.
